Taupe hides mud, and on a 75 x 60cm bed that a wet collie climbs into twice a day that is the whole argument. This is the Large Alpine, built with a washable outer cover over a water-resistant inner cushion, so a bed that gets damp from a dog rather than from the weather can be stripped and washed without the filling being soaked.

The pile is thick-cut faux fur and the fill is 100% recycled polyester. Wall height is 16cm all round, which is enough to lean into without penning a large dog in. The base grips, so the bed does not slide across a tiled kitchen when a dog throws itself into it.

How to Use

• Remove the inner cushion before washing; the cushion itself must not go in the machine.
• Gentle machine wash the outer cover at 30 degrees with a mild detergent.
• Do not bleach and do not tumble dry. Dry flat.
• Colour transfer may occur while the bed is wet, so dry it clear of pale flooring.
• Shake the bed out regularly to keep the fill even.
• Keep away from open fires and heaters.
