Simple System Build & Shine – 18kg Lucerne Chop with Cold-Pressed Linseed Oil
Simple System Build & Shine – 18kg
Build & Shine is the richest of Simple System's lucerne chops, and the one to reach for when a horse needs to gain rather than hold. Dried lucerne chop is coated with fresh cold-pressed linseed oil, which lifts the oil content to 5–7% and supplies energy as fat rather than as starch — calories without the fizz, and the Omega 3 that shows up first in the coat.
The declared analysis puts crude protein at 18–22% against starch of under 3% and sugar under 7%, which is an unusual combination: plenty of quality protein for muscle and topline, without the cereal starch that normally comes attached to a conditioning feed. Simple System rate the digestible energy at 9–10 MJ/kg, in the medium band.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Dried lucerne chop with cold-pressed linseed oil, and nothing else in the bag.
- Crude protein 18–22%, so it builds topline as well as covering ribs.
- Oil at 5–7% carries the calories; starch stays under 3%.
- Omega 3 from the linseed oil supports skin and coat condition.
- A chop rather than a pellet, so it takes real chewing and slows a feed down.
- Free from cereals, molasses, pulses, soya, preservatives and additives.
Suitable For
- Poor doers and horses that need to gain condition.
- Competition horses and horses in regular work.
- Young, growing horses.
- Horses that need condition but turn sharp on cereals.
- Too rich for a good doer or an overweight pony — Simple System Organic Lucie Stalks gives bulk without calories, and MetaSlim balances a restricted ration.
Feeding
- Introduce gradually over a week, as with any new feed.
- Simple System publish no fixed rate per 100kg bodyweight for Build & Shine — feed to requirements and condition.
- A level Stubbs bowl scoop holds approximately 400g.
- Feed alone or alongside a Simple System forage and balancer.
