Skinner's Field & Trial Energy Bar – 12 x 35g
The Energy Bar is a 35g chicken-based bar meant to be given thirty minutes before a dog goes to work, or at the point in a long day when it starts to flag. Chicken makes up the leading fraction — chicken meal at 36%, chicken fat at 7.5% and chicken liver at 4% — carried on English wholemeal flour.
Honey, vegetable glycerine and gelatine give it a soft, chewy texture that a dog can take and swallow quickly without stopping for a chew, and dried carrot and dried apple round out the recipe. At 344 kcal per 100g a single bar is a meaningful top-up rather than a token.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Chicken meal at 36%, chicken fat at 7.5% and chicken liver at 4%.
- 27.5% crude protein and 12.6% crude fat, at 344 kcal per 100g.
- Soft and chewy at 18% moisture, so it goes down fast in the field.
- English wholemeal flour as the carrier, with honey for quick-release energy.
- Dried carrot and dried apple included.
- Twelve individually sized 35g bars per pack — one per outing for most dogs.
Suitable For
- Working dogs needing a boost part-way through a day.
- Gundogs, agility and flyball dogs, before or between runs.
- Dogs from six months of age onwards.
- Carrying in a pocket or game bag where a bag of loose treats would break up.
- Not a training reward — the bars are too large to give repeatedly. Skinner's Field & Trial Chicken Liver Training Treats are the small, high-frequency option.
Feeding
- Give one bar about thirty minutes before activity, or as and when the dog needs a lift.
- Can also be given while training or between meals.
- Treats should not make up more than 10% of the dog's daily food allowance — cut the main meal back accordingly.
- Suitable from six months of age.
- Fresh drinking water at all times.

- Dogs on an exclusion diet should not have these — the bars contain chicken, wheat flour and honey.
