Skinner's Field & Trial Lamb & Rice – 15kg

Lamb & Rice is the lower-protein member of the sensitive range: 21% protein against 12% fat, where the chicken, duck and salmon recipes all sit at 25%. That shift suits a dog that holds condition easily but still needs the energy, and it suits a dog that has reacted to poultry protein.

Brown rice leads the composition at 40.6%, with lamb meat meal at 26% and lucerne in place of the beet pulp used elsewhere in the range. At 349 kcal per 100g it is the least energy-dense of the rice recipes.

Performance & Benefits
  • Lamb meat meal at 26% — no poultry protein in the meat fraction.
  • Brown rice at 40.6%, the highest rice inclusion of the adult recipes.
  • 21% crude protein with 12% crude fat, at 349 kcal per 100g.
  • Lucerne supplies fibre in place of beet pulp, and crude fibre sits at 3%.
  • Glucosamine 350mg/kg, chondroitin sulphate 150mg/kg, seaweed 150mg/kg and yucca 100mg/kg.
  • Omega-3 at 1.26% from whole linseed.
<>
Suitable For
  • Adult dogs at moderate work — peg dogs, picking-up dogs, agility and flyball dogs.
  • Dogs that do better on a lower protein level than the 25% recipes.
  • Dogs avoiding wheat, maize and barley, none of which is used.
  • Good doers that put on weight quickly on a richer food.
  • Not enough energy for a dog working hard through a full season — Field & Trial Working 26 at 26% protein and 16% fat is the one for that.
<>
Feeding
  • Feed dry, or moistened with a small quantity of tepid water shortly before the meal.
  • Skinner's publish their daily amounts as a bodyweight chart rather than a single figure, so work from the guide printed on the bag and adjust to condition.
  • Because the fat level is modest, a hard-working dog may need a noticeably larger ration than on the poultry recipes.
  • Change over gradually, mixing an increasing share of the new food with the old across several days.
  • Complete and balanced — no supplementation needed.
  • Fresh drinking water at all times.
