Horse & Pony Cubes are the plain, balanced maintenance feed of the Spillers range: 8.9 MJ/kg, 10% protein, a full vitamin and mineral pack, and nothing specialist bolted on. For a horse at rest or in light work that needs a bucket feed rather than a balancer, this is the sensible default.

Being a cube rather than a mix, there is nothing for a horse to sort through and reject, which suits a horse that picks the flaked cereal out of a coarse mix and leaves the rest. Magnesium oxide is included and the copper and zinc are chelated. Starch is 16%, so it is a low-energy feed rather than a low-starch one.

Feeding

• Introduce gradually over seven to ten days.
• 350kg pony in light work: 2kg daily, split across a minimum of two meals, plus forage.
• 500kg horse in light work: 3kg daily, split across a minimum of two meals, plus forage.
• Feed with additional chopped fibre if your horse eats too quickly.
• Ad-lib forage and clean water at all times.

• Composition: wheatfeed, oatfeed, molasses blend (cane molasses, desugared beet molasses), rice bran, calcium carbonate, soya (bean) hulls dehulled (genetically modified), sunflower seed meal dehulled, salt, rapeseed oil, magnesium oxide, with added vitamins and minerals.
• Typical analysis: digestible energy 8.9 MJ/kg, oil 4.0%, protein 10.0%, fibre 15.0%, starch 16.0%, sugar 4.5%.
• Vitamin A 10,000 iu/kg, vitamin D3 1,500 iu/kg, vitamin E 200 iu/kg.
• Selenium 0.30 mg/kg, copper 40 mg/kg, zinc 120 mg/kg.

Care & Caution
