SPILLERS Perform & Restore Mash – 20kg

Perform & Restore Mash is aimed at the hours after work rather than before it. It soaks in two minutes with one and a half times its volume of water, which is what makes it practical at a competition or after a hard schooling session, when the horse wants something wet in front of it and nobody has an hour to wait.

The formulation follows the same logic: 11.5 MJ/kg from fibre and oil at 9% starch and 2.5% sugar, vitamin C at 900 mg/kg and vitamin E at 500 iu/kg, with live yeast and both MOS and FOS prebiotics. It can replace the compound feed entirely — Spillers' own worked diet feeds 3.5kg dry weight a day to a 500kg horse in medium work — or sit alongside one.

Performance & Benefits
  • Soaks in about two minutes with 1.5 times its volume of water.
  • 11.5 MJ/kg from digestible fibre and oil, with starch at 9% and sugar at 2.5%.
  • Vitamin C at 900 mg/kg and vitamin E at 500 iu/kg.
  • Probiotic live yeast with prebiotic MOS and FOS.
  • 13% protein and 20% fibre.
  • A wet feed encourages a horse to take on water after work, which is half the recovery problem.
<>
Suitable For
  • Competition and performance horses between hard sessions.
  • Horses that travel and compete regularly and drink poorly away from home.
  • Horses in hard work that turn sharp on cereal feeds.
  • Use as a full replacement for the compound feed, or alongside one.
  • Not a hay replacer for a horse with worn teeth — Spillers Senior Super-Mash is the mash formulated for that job.
<>
Feeding
  • Put the dry feed in a bucket, add 1.5 times its volume of water and leave for about two minutes until the water is taken up.
  • 500kg horse in medium work, as a complete replacement for compound feed: 3.5kg dry weight daily, split across a minimum of two meals.
  • 350kg pony in medium work: 2.5kg dry weight daily, split across a minimum of two meals.
  • Make it up fresh each feed; do not leave a soaked mash standing in warm weather.
  • Feed with forage and keep clean water available.

Composition & Analysis
  • Composition: soya (bean) hulls dehulled (genetically modified), wheatfeed, dried unmolassed sugar beet pulp, sunflower seed meal dehulled, oatfeed, rice bran, treated cereal straw (oat & wheat, sodium), calcium carbonate, salt, rapeseed oil, oligo-fructose (0.2%), yeast products (0.1%), with added vitamins, minerals, probiotic live yeast and prebiotics MOS and FOS.
  • Typical analysis: digestible energy 11.5 MJ/kg, oil 5.0%, protein 13.0%, fibre 20.0%, starch 9.0%, sugar 2.5%.
  • Vitamin C 900 mg/kg. Vitamin E 500 iu/kg.
  • 20kg bag. BETA NOPS approved.
<>
Care & Caution
  • Always soak it before feeding. Dry pelleted mash fed straight from the bag is a choke risk, particularly in a horse that eats quickly after work.
  • It is a recovery feed, not an electrolyte. Spillers formulate it to complement electrolyte replacement, not to replace the electrolytes a sweating horse loses — feed those separately as your vet advises.
