Stubbs S80 Plastic Feed Scoop – 2 Litre
Graduated markings are the point of this scoop. Most yard scoops are a plain moulding you fill by eye; the Stubbs S80 has measures moulded into the body, so a half scoop is an actual half scoop and two people feeding the same horse give it the same amount.
Capacity is 2 litres dry. Stubbs put that at roughly 2kg of cubes, 1.5kg of mix and 0.5kg of chaff, though your own feed will vary a little — weighing one scoop of each thing you feed takes two minutes and makes the markings genuinely useful.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Graduated markings moulded into the body for accurate part scoops.
- 2 litre dry capacity, the measure most UK feed charts are written around.
- Stubbythene moulding that does not crack when it is driven into a compacted bag.
- Steel handle with a Stubbyfine coating, so it does not snap where plastic ones do.
- 10cm high and 23cm across — deep enough to fill in one pass, narrow enough to get into a bin.
- 410g empty.
Suitable For
- Yards where more than one person feeds and consistency matters.
- Splitting a hard feed ration across two or three feeds a day.
- Measuring balancer and supplements, where the amounts are small.
- Feed rooms running several bins and several horses.
- Not a weight measure on its own — different feeds fill the same 2 litres at very different weights, so weigh yours.
How to Use
- Weigh a level scoop of each feed once and note the answer on the bin lid.
- Read the markings with the scoop held level, not tipped.
- Rinse and dry after use, especially after a soaked feed or a molassed mix.
- Keep one scoop per feed so damp chaff never goes back into the cube bin.
