Thunderbrook Healthy Herbal Muesli – 15kg

Healthy Herbal Muesli is a forage-first mix built on over fifty varieties of alpine grasses, with fruit, seeds, herbs and flowers blended through it. It is what most Thunderbrook feeders use as the carrier for a balancer — palatable enough that a fussy horse eats the supplement instead of sorting it out and leaving it.

The free-from list is the point of the feed rather than a footnote to it: no molasses, straw, binders, fillers, artificial preservatives, GMOs, waste by-products or chemically treated ingredients. Thunderbrook's own analysis puts starch at 0.1–1% and sugar at 6–9%, with 22.2% crude fibre and 11.7 MJ/kg.

Performance & Benefits
  • Over fifty varieties of alpine grass as the base — not cereal, and not straw.
  • Starch 0.1–1% on Thunderbrook's analysis, which is very low for a mix of this kind.
  • Black oil sunflower seeds, cold-pressed linseed oil and toasted linseed shreds for oil and coat.
  • Carrot, apple, parsnip and beetroot, with cornflower and calendula petals, rosehips and herbs for palatability.
  • No molasses, straw, binders, fillers, artificial preservatives, GMOs or waste by-products.
  • Designed as a carrier: one or two handfuls will take a scoop of balancer.
<>
Suitable For
  • Carrying Thunderbrook Daily Essentials or another balancer into a horse that would otherwise leave it.
  • Horses kept on low-sugar, low-starch diets.
  • Fussy feeders and horses that sort through a bucket.
  • Bulking out a small hard feed without adding cereal.
  • Not a conditioning feed. A horse that needs to put weight on wants Thunderbrook Gentle Gain rather than more muesli.
<>
Feeding
  • As a supplement carrier: one to two handfuls mixed in.
  • To bulk out a ration: 200g up to a maximum of 1.5kg per feed for a 500kg horse.
  • Dampen before feeding.
  • Introduce gradually over several days.
  • Fresh water at all times.

  • Thunderbrook's analysis: crude protein 13.2%, crude fat 8%, crude fibre 22.2%, crude ash 8.9%, sodium 0.15%, DE 11.7 MJ/kg.
  • Sugar 6–9% and starch 0.1–1%, given as ranges because the grass is a natural product and cuts vary.
