Thunderbrook Synergy – 15kg

Synergy, sold until recently as Equestrian Base Mix, is Thunderbrook's concentrated balanced feed — fed by the handful rather than the scoopful. It is cereal free, built on linseed and stabilised rice bran with a yeast product, calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate and organic sesame seed oil.

The free-from list is unusually long: no fillers, binders or pelleting agents, no preservatives, no synthetically derived micronutrients, and no wheatfeed, oatfeed, soya, sugar beet, molasses or alfalfa. At 22% crude protein and 23% crude fat it is fed at 50 to 100g per 100kg of bodyweight a day, depending on the work the horse is doing.

Performance & Benefits
  • Cereal free and concentrated — a 500kg horse in light work takes 500g a day.
  • 22% crude protein and 23% crude fat, with starch at 7.5% and sugar at 2.2%.
  • Linseed and stabilised rice bran as the base, with organic extra virgin sesame seed oil.
  • Yeast product, prebiotics and a blend of herbs, fruits and botanicals for the hindgut.
  • No fillers, binders, pelleting agents, preservatives or synthetically derived micronutrients.
  • No wheatfeed, oatfeed, soya, sugar beet, molasses or alfalfa.

Suitable For
  • Horses of any discipline, plus veterans and youngstock — Thunderbrook's own list.
  • Horses needing a balanced feed without cereals.
  • Good-doers, at the lower 50g per 100kg rate.
  • Feeding into a chaff such as Thunderbrook Healthy Herbal Chaff rather than fed on its own.
  • Not a feed to scoop up freely — the rates are deliberately small, and exceeding them is expensive as well as unnecessary.
<>
Feeding
  • Maintenance and light work: 100g per 100kg bodyweight a day — 300g for a 300kg pony, 500g for a 500kg horse, 700g for a 750kg horse.
  • Good-doers at maintenance: 50g per 100kg a day — 150g, 250g and 350g respectively.
  • Mix into a damp chaff and feed as part of a forage-based diet.
  • Introduce gradually over several days.
  • Fresh water at all times.

Composition & Analysis
  • Composition: linseed, stabilised rice bran, yeast product, calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate and organic sesame seed oil, with a proprietary blend of herbs, fruits and botanicals and chelated minerals.
  • Thunderbrook's analysis per 100g dry weight: crude protein 22.0%, crude fat 23.0%, crude fibre 15.0%, starch 7.5%, sugar 2.2%.
  • Free from wheatfeed, oatfeed, soya, sugar beet, molasses, alfalfa, fillers, binders, pelleting agents, preservatives and synthetically derived micronutrients.
  • Thunderbrook describe Synergy as cereal free. Any description of it as a multi-cereal mix is incorrect.
  • Figures of 24% oil, 10% starch, 5.75% fibre, 14% ash and 15.5 MJ/kg have appeared on retail listings for this feed. The figures above are Thunderbrook's own and are the ones stated here.
  • 15kg bag.
