Woodlodge William Morris Pot – Cream, Ø40cm

At 40cm across, this is the largest of the four sizes Woodlodge make in the William Morris range, and the one that takes a shrub, a small standard or a full mixed planting rather than a single bedding plant. The cream glaze carries a Morris-derived pattern band, printed rather than moulded, so the detail reads clearly from across a patio.

Woodlodge have been supplying British garden pottery since 1987 and list William Morris under product code WMORRIS245 in 20cm, 26cm, 33cm and 40cm diameters. They publish the diameter and the finish but no height, weight, capacity or frost rating for the individual sizes, so nothing further is claimed here.

How to Use

• Stand it on pot feet or a saucer so the drainage hole is never sitting in water.
• Put a layer of crock or coarse grit in the base before the compost.
• Fill with a loam-based mix for long-term planting; Westland John Innes No.3 suits shrubs and mature plants in a pot this size.
• Position it before you fill it. A 40cm pot of wet compost is a two-person lift.
• Wipe the glaze with a damp cloth; avoid abrasive pads and wire brushes.
