Woof Wear Contour Head Collar – Red, Small

Red is one of the strongest colours in the Contour range and the one that shows dirt least, which is a small but real consideration on a head collar that travels and gets tied up. The collar itself is soft polypropylene webbing with neoprene padding laid over the noseband and behind the poll, the two points that take the load when a horse pulls back or leans on a tie.

The double-buckle headpiece is the detail worth paying for: with a buckle on each side you can level the collar and set the noseband height properly instead of forcing all the adjustment through one cheekpiece.

How to Use

• Position the noseband roughly two fingers below the projecting cheek bone, above the soft cartilage.
• Use both headpiece buckles so the cheekpieces are level and the jaw ring hangs centrally.
• Leave a hand's width of room at the throat.
• Machine wash at a maximum of 30°C on a gentle spin with a non-biological detergent.
• Do not tumble dry and do not dry in strong sunlight — red is the colour that fades fastest.

Care & Caution

• Not a breakaway head collar. There is no safety release and Woof Wear do not claim one, so do not turn a pony out wearing it. A head collar hooked over a gate latch or a hay ring with nothing to give is how ponies break their necks and tear their faces.
• Tie only to a loop of breakable string, never straight to a ring or a trailer tie.
• Inspect the stitching at the buckles and at the jaw ring. Webbing gives no warning before it lets go.
