Ocean is the blue-green in Woof Wear's Colour Fusion palette, a clear turquoise that sits between the Electric Blue and the Racing Green. The whip itself is the standard Gel Fusion: 60cm overall, flexible fibreglass shaft, real leather flapper.

It is a whip to carry rather than to compete in — 60cm is a hacking and schooling length, long enough to reach behind the leg from a normal position but short enough to hold without it catching on a gate. The gel handle is the reason most riders buy this range twice.

How to Use

• Hold it in the same hand as your rein, thumb over the top of the gel grip, flapper hanging behind your leg.
• Use it to confirm a leg aid the horse has ignored — one light tap, then reward the response. It is not a substitute for the leg.
• Change it to the other hand across the withers when you change the rein, rather than reaching over.
• Woof Wear's instruction is wipe clean only. Wipe the shaft and gel handle with a damp cloth and dry it off; do not soak it or put it in a wash.
• Store it hanging, or lying flat, rather than stood on the flapper.
