Ultra Violet is the purple in the Colour Fusion line, a deep blue-toned violet rather than a lilac — Woof Wear make a separate Lilac if you want the paler version. The whip is the standard 60cm Gel Fusion including its leather flapper.

Because the TPR gel is translucent, the colour has depth to it and the handle looks wet even when it is dry. Practically, the gel matters more than the colour: it is the part that stops the whip turning in your hand when you are asking for something and the reins are already short.

How to Use

• Hold it in the same hand as your rein, thumb over the top of the gel grip, flapper hanging behind your leg.
• Use it to confirm a leg aid the horse has ignored — one light tap, then reward the response. It is not a substitute for the leg.
• Change it to the other hand across the withers when you change the rein, rather than reaching over.
• Woof Wear's instruction is wipe clean only. Wipe the shaft and gel handle with a damp cloth and dry it off; do not soak it or put it in a wash.
• Store it hanging, or lying flat, rather than stood on the flapper.
