Woof Wear Reflective Club Boot – Hi Vis Lime, Extra Large

Extra Large is the top of this range, and on Woof Wear's brushing boot chart XL appears only as a hind size — the hind legs of large horses of 16.3hh and over. A hind leg is longer and heavier in the bone than a front leg on the same horse, so a big horse can quite correctly wear a Large in front and an XL behind.

The visibility comes from the straps: fluorescent hi vis lime with reflective banding, so the boots show up in daylight and again in headlights. Underneath, it is the standard Club Boot build — a 7mm neoprene base with a padded PU strike pad over the inside face. Supplied as a pair.

Performance & Benefits
  • Cut long and wide enough for the hind cannon of a big horse, where a Large gapes at the top.
  • Fluorescent lime straps with reflective banding, low on the leg where movement catches the eye first.
  • Padded PU strike pad over the inside of the hind fetlock and cannon.
  • 7mm neoprene base for impact spread without excessive bulk.
  • Secure-Grip hook and loop straps, long enough to close properly on a heavy limb.
  • Machine washable at 30°C.
<>
Suitable For
  • Hind legs on horses of 16.3hh and over.
  • Heavy-boned warmbloods, big Irish types and drafts that outgrow a Large behind.
  • Road hacking, winter schooling and early or late exercise in poor light.
  • Horses that brush behind and mark the inside of the opposite fetlock.
  • Oversized for front legs — Woof Wear's front sizing stops at Large, so buy the Large for the fronts of the same horse.
  • Not a hock boot and not a tendon boot; it gives no support and no hock cover.
<>
How to Use
  • Fit with the strike pad against the inside of the hind leg, straps fastening front to back and outwards.
  • Keep the top edge below the point of the hock so it cannot chafe as the hock flexes.
  • Check the boot will not turn by hand, then check a finger still slides under the top edge.
  • Close all straps before washing. Machine wash at a maximum of 30°C on a gentle spin with non-biological detergent.
  • Do not tumble dry and keep out of strong sunlight, which fades fluorescent dye quickly.

<>
Care & Caution
  • Hind legs get looked at least. Turn the boots out, wash the grit off and check the skin every time they come off.
  • Neoprene holds heat. Use them for work and turnout, not around the clock.
  • Mud kills reflectivity. Keep them clean, and treat hi vis as one layer of visibility rather than the whole answer.
