Woof Wear UV Fly Mask with Ears – Black, Extra Small

XS is the second smallest mask Woof Wear make, sized for small ponies of roughly 12.2–13.1hh. Small ponies are often the ones that need a mask most: native and part-bred ponies frequently carry a broad blaze or a bald face, and that unpigmented pink skin around the eyes and muzzle burns in a single bright week.

The mask is no-rub spacer fabric with soft 3D-shaped ears and a contoured nose seal, and the vision mesh shades the eye and lids while leaving the pony able to see. The forelock can be worn in or out, which matters on a thick-maned native. Woof Wear also make an XXS below this size for the smallest ponies.

How to Use

• Look in from the side and confirm the mesh stands clear of the eyelashes with nothing on the eye.
• Seat the ears squarely, unfolded, and tuck or release the forelock as you prefer.
• Set the nose seal flat all the way round, without lifting the mask up towards the eye.
• Close all straps before washing. Machine wash at a maximum of 30°C on a gentle spin with non-biological detergent.
• Do not tumble dry and do not leave in strong sunlight.

Care & Caution

• A mask that touches the eye or the lashes will scratch the cornea. Check the clearance every single time it goes on, and again if the pony has been rubbing.
• Take it off and check the face daily. On a small pony the mask is proportionally heavier and the cheekbones are close to the surface.
• Wash it regularly — grit in the spacer fabric is what turns a comfortable mask into a rubbing one.
• Replace it once it is torn or has stretched out of shape. A slack mask slides onto the eye.
